Shadowbane Review at IGN

IGN has posted their review of Shadowbane, and it's a ratherpositive one (but not enthusiastic), with a score of 7.3/10. Their conclusion:

Overall Shadowbane is a decent game. It's not great by any means, but it does provide one of the most satisfactory Player vs. Player experiences of any current online world. The fast leveling is great to get right to the action, but without skill respecs it means you will be erasing and remaking the same character multiple times if you want to be at peak efficiency. Most casual players will never experience how in-depth the city creation and guild system is, so it removes a large part of the game for them. Shadowbane is a good game for "hardcore" MMORPG fans. Unfortunately, this is not the game for someone who is new to online worlds or for anyone who detests Player vs. Player combat.

I am so tired of all the Shadowbane reviews giving the game points for the "fast levelling". Levelling is so amazingly boring, repetitive and without any purpose whatsoever since there are no quests to speak of or no other rewards for killing things then experience, gold and items. You simply kill things, rest, repeat for awfuly long amounts of time because to enjoy the PvP aspect of the game, you must be at least level 50.

Go ahead, respond and tell me I am wrong. I guarantee that anybody who has levelled past 50 in Shadowbane will not, however, disagree.

You're absolutely right. This game has seen my interest fade completely. I usually buy almost all fantasy mmorpgs and then I try them for the free month to see what their like. Not this one.
