Most annoying gaming site |
|
I must admit, i am extremely pissed off at these gaming sites because their reviews are so biased it's like they were payed by the friggin publishers to give their **** games higher ratings.
A very good example would be the review of gamespy on the Legend of Zelda: wind waker, they gave it 97% and they keep making conclusions that it's one of the if not the best game ever made, are they CRAZY?? I've played this game and it was fun and it was a pretty good game but it doesn't deserve 97% because it's basically just the same n64 version of zelda in new clothes. |

I find Gamespot and File Planet the most annoying in terms of commercialization. |

I cant recall which one, I think its gameSPY gave moo3 92% rating yet withing their review they admit the game is entirely unplayable.
I played moo3 3 times. Always on hard or impossible.
I hit some settings on turn 1. 3 times I asembled a fleet and pointed it at a neighbors home world. every 10 turns i hit make spy.
Other than that I hit end turn 500 times!!!! And I won all three of my games ahead of the 2nd place civ by a huge margin sometimes 20 to 1.
Moo3 doesnt even qualify as a game its a bar graph simulator. Worst game I have ever played I cant give a POTENTIAL game even a 30% score. So their credibility is forever gone, or at least that reviewer. I cant believe he even played the game. |

One gamespot reviewer admitted in an article that he thinks there shouldn’t even be a storyline in games anymore! Grr, that makes me angry. |

Hmm, where's IGN? They gave Vietcom a 7. (although it could be a copy-protection issue that influenced the score.) |

I think it was gamespy. Although, I generally hold no love for gamespot they did criticize moo3 as a disappointment and gave it around a 6.7 (although reading the review, you would think it would have gottten worse).. THey also turned around and gave Galactic Civilizations (same exact genre, much better game) a game by a small developer a pretty good rating (around 8.7) and stating clearly that they felt it was a much better than Moo3. Gotta give them some respect for that.
By the way Stamar, you might want to give Gal Civ a try, for me it turned out to be the game that I was hoping Moo3 would be. Hard as hell though with very good AI. Now if I could only get gamespy to reimburse for the 50$ I spent based on their review. |

I hate gamespot. I've found that the majority of their negative reviews are because they think the game is just too hard. Don't give a game a bad review just because you suck at it, that's just low. |

I used to visit Gamespot on a daily basis until I discovered RPGDot. Now I can't stand to read their reviews anymore. I do still go there for the downloads (they have a great database of patches, demos, and trailers), but I can't stomach their juvenile view on gaming. RPGDot is the only site I visit on a daily basis. _________________ Death: Peace, at last |

Gamespot used to be a great site some four years ago, before it became a pay site and began to write biased reviews. _________________ "Tree stuck in cat. Firemen baffled."--Simcity 3K

I tried out gal civ also. Sort of simpler version of civ 2. I agree the computer AI is smart in that game, but it is a simpler game it always has the same amount of players. |

Those sites are not in the same league as one I tried to visit. I won't mention the name, but basically, a friend recommended I go there. I dropped in, clicked on enter and was promptly told I had been banned from the site. How do you get banned from a site you've never visited? I hadn't even entered any name; it was my IP that was banned!! I wrote to the site admin 3 times and I have yet to receive a reply. Now that is a lame site!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!
