Am I the only person who thinks that screenshot looks pretty average? I guess it's not critical though. The previous two Gothic games didn't have terrific graphics. |

I think it looks great. If you look closely at the screenshot you can tell that they didn't even have antialiasing or anistropic filtering enabled. |

Looks awesome indeed, My only hope really for this game is that we will be able to wear helmets and use shields.
Other then that i'm happy with a new Gothic story =) |

Nothing has been metioned about it yet, maybe it isn't definitive and will be changed later. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Screenshot looks great and it looks like it has retained the graphical feel of the first two games. |

I've been watching these 7 days to go, 6 days to go, 5 days to go etc movies for (The Elder Scrolls IV) Oblivion, and in a funny twist, they're making me want to get my hands on Gothic 3 even more!! If PB can retain the fun elements of the first two games, and combine it with even more believable graphics, then it's looking like we might have a solid RPG to play.

Question for Gothic fans: is it third person perspective, and what's combat like?
There is a Gothic2 demo released on the 'net, if you are open-minded enough to accept it was written and released a few years back now and so can take that into consideration when trying it, it should give you some idea of the interface at least. (Part of enjoyment with Gothic is the storyline which gradually gets revealed, no demo can demonstrate that).
So have a look for the G2 demo and give it a try. |

Phww. Oblivion blows this POS out of the water. The pixels are all wrong and the models are blocky and silly. What kind of crap as shodower are they using? ANd the lighting looks like monkey crap. I will not stand for subpar graphics. I am very disapointed. Scratch another game of my want list. The devlopers just don't get it. Who's their target market? Helen Keller? Unacceptable!!!! _________________ Vegitarian is the Indian word for lousey hunter. |

WOW! That's amazing! You're the first person I've met that's already played both games. |

He is our new hero, isn't he?
I can't wait to get my hands on Oblivion AND Gothic 3. Love them both with all my heart (in advance too). And this pic looks gorgeous.
And Roqua: if you didn't play such a fantastic RPG (as Gothic 2 for example) because it doesn't need a nuclear plant to work then you are a fool and I pity you. |

Considering how he usually calls anything with graphics more sophisticated than spiderweb games for commercial drivel I'm pretty sure Roqua is indeed joking
On the topic of the screenshot I have to say (even though I'll not win any popularity contest for it) that so far I don't really care what Gothic 3 looks like and I refuse to be even slightly hyped about it until I'm 110% sure that it will actually be released in an english version within a reasonable time of the german release (sorry, but the whole Night of the Raven affair has left me seriously hesitant towards any Piranha Bytes/Jowood titles). _________________ Signature? ... erm ... nope, can't think of one. |

Wasn't Atari largely at fault? _________________ Dak’kon: "Your reasons for your incessant clicking are not *known* to me."

Piranha Bytes isn't to blame. The english version was finished about two months after the german release of NotR.
In how far Atari and/or JoWooD is to blame is something I don't have enough info for to give a grounded answer. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."
