I can't seem to get swimming down. If I fall from higher up (dive under instead of swim on the surface), I drown almost every time. All I can do is slowly sink and change my body position. How do you move forward? How do you swim to the surface? Thanks in advance!

Swimming is a bit hard to get used to but once you do it is very cool. But don’t get carried away with it or you’ll soon end up fish food. Swimming under water is done with holding the right mouse button down and one more thing the mouse orientation is reversed when you’re under water. To surface you pull the mouse back. It took some practice to get used to, but once I did, it makes for a very relaxing way to get around. I even ride the water falls down to the Sect camp. There are also some neat things in the water. Now all I need is an inner tube and a cooler for the beer.

Lurkers are fast swimmers and can breathe under water.

What's funny is watching monsters who can't swim try anyway.

I attacked a group of Goblins with a long bow from a ridge next to a waterfall. I soon couldn't figure out where they all went until I looked at the waterfall. The Goblins were trying to get at me by swimming upstream like Salmon!

Needless to say they didn't get to the top

I then discovered that the Gothic programmers created a "floater" mode for corpses. Nice touch. Gross, but a nice touch.

Or, you can use the arrow keys to change direction and Alt to move forward.

Yea...I did the thing with the black goblins too. Then I realized I was blowing off over 100 points per goblin. So I lured a couple out at a time and ran across the bridge, made a quick left and shot them with my bow. They’d get so pissed off that they would come straight at me right over the cliff. Then I would pick the off before they drowned.
