Excellent choices. Some are turned off by the setting (post-nuclear USA, instead of the traditional elves and dwarves), but it didn't bother me at all. Fallout was one of the first games I played that TRULY played different depending on what type of character you developed (basher, talker, sneak)and allowed relatively equal chances of success for all of them.

The Fallout games were awesome RPGs! Anyone who plays RPGs and doesn't have those games in their collection is committing sacrilege! *whew* Okay, I've calmed down.
Seriously though, those were some of the best RPGs ever put out. By today's standard the graphics look crappy now (although I still get a kick out of some of those death animations!). The leveling and skill systems were solid and you really could win the game however you wanted.
It has a top-down isometric view and turn-based combat (the way to go). The only thing that really suffered was the AI of your party members. I remember more than once getting a burst of bullets to the back. Grr....
But everything else in those games was great (besides the time limit in Fallout 1). The atmosphere, the weapons, the dialog, all of it together made a great series. I'd really suggest playing Fallout 1 then Fallout 2.

Hmm... Methinks this must needs be in General CRPG...

Well, it looks like you like it. I think that the game in that store was Fallout 2. Maybe I have to look out for the first before.

How long gameplay will it be?
Do anyone know a site? (Havénīt looked for anyone.)

@dteowner
I has allways been looking for a game with a little bit more modern weapons.

I never finished Fallout2 (I remember really liking it, but I don't remember what forced me away, may have been the birth of my twins). IIRC, I had about 70 hours in Fallout1. I'm very slow with RPGs, though. I explore every nook and cranny and do every quest I can find. Rumor has it 2 was longer than 1.

Yes, Fallout 2 was definately longer than 1. In fact, you could keep playing even after winning the game. Here is a good Fallout site. You can even download the demo and try it out.

Ah, i remember fallout 2 and to a slightly lesser extent fallout 1. I got them both for $10 at Wal-mart (*Shudder* Wal-mart )

Easily 50 hours of gameplay between the two (Hundreds if you play after beating fallout 2

Yes, I still have nightmares about that stupid mutant shredding me to pieces.

I will recommend the games every day but try downloading the demo first it may not have aged as well as I like to believe.

I would consider Fallout 1 the best since it was more true to the post-nuclear setting and the story was better. Fallout 2 got a little too extreme with laser rifles and so on (but quite enjoyable weapons no matter what). There are a lot of improvements of course in the second game. The NPC’s are a lot more interesting for instance.

Both games should give you in the region of 50-80 hours of game time each so it’s well worth the money.

Anyway like Rawis said you should be able to get a value priced package with both games.

What got me was that as the Idiot you could COMPLETE fallout 2. Fallout had some funny dialogues for the idiotic character, but FO2 you could actually complete it.

Heh. (paraphrased... it's been a while, but this is the gist of one moment in the game)

"The bad box with the snakes is hissing at you and the little figure seems to be giving you the finger."
Character choice:
"Stupid snakes. Stupid little man. Me no like. Me leave." <leave alone>
"What? RAUGH! Stupid box! Me show you!" <grab snakes and pull>

"You grab the snakes and yank them. The hissing increases and a crackling numbness spreads over your body."

Character: "Oooooo... that t-t-t-tingles!"
<fade to black... wake up six game hours later with 1 hp>

All that when the intelligent character just says 'put the disk in the computer'.

Playing as the moron was hilarious. Making incoherant noises during 'cut scenes' was great. Definately NOT for the first run through of the game, as getting 2 skill points a level is suicidal.

Are you playing Fallout 1 or 2?
What are your character stats? What perks did you pick?
I always picked Gifted and Finesse in character creation.
You'll want to visit the site I posted earlier. There are many strategy guides and FAQs posted there that cover everything from character creation to complete walkthroughs if you get stuck.

I am playing fallout 1 now, and I will begin with the second when i finished the first, I think.

My stats and things like that is not important because I messed it all up when i killed some people in the trash city. I canīt get out because there are toomany/good guards there.

I think I picked kamikaze and something else. I think it was about some blood thing. My character is a moron and canīt speak.

I will visit the site tomorrow. Now I am goign to bed soon.
