| Help with fale soul jem quest in balmora mages guild!! |

I messed up the quest where u have to put the fake soul gem on the persons desk, i wandered around and when i got to her desk she was back. i dont know what to do, i hope i can still do it cause its only the first quest in the mages guild at balamora and i kinda wanna do a few more |

well...i'm not sure whether this will work or not but why not give it a try.
1) just go around that mage and sneak....then activate the table and put in the fake soul gem....logically if u were to steal something with that person there he would call the guards but since you're putting something in....
2) reload?

Sounds like quite a predicament you're in. :p The above suggestion is fine, but it sounds like you're more of a mage type, or at least you're probably at lower level, so your sneak ability isn't so hot. The easiest way to get around this would be to a) Cast an invisibility spell, and place the soul gem in the desk b) drink an invisibility potion, and place the soul gem in the desk. If you don't have the spell, you can buy the potion at the alchemist in town. From the mages guild go north, then up the stairs on the left. There should be a clothier and the alchemist right next to each other.
