NPC teammates won't follow me in towns

For some unknown reason, all of a sudden my NPC teammates won't follow me when i walk around a town. I had them "stay" so i could walk around a town without having to tell them to "move" out of the doorways, but after i told them all "let's go", nothing happened.

They will actually move from one town to another when i travel accross the map, but once there they stand still.

I've tried to tell them to stay, then go again. No luck. I've restarted the game, the machine. No luck. I don't have a save game anymore that was previous to when this happened though, i didn't even realize it until i moved from one town to the next.

WinXP Pro machine, brand new. Been working fine for 20 hours or more.

Help please!!
