Joined Militia, but Mortis can't increase my strength...

I'm have joined the Militia and I have some LP's and want to increase my strength. And I know Mortis can do that, so I go to him, but the option has disappeared from the list. Does anybody know if this is a bug or so??

Train to 30 with Carl, get the ring of strength on the platform above the cave with the orc outside of town, and get a Fine Longsword(req.35 strength, 45 damage). You don't need more than that to become a Paladin as long as you are an expert(30%) at 1H fighting. After that, you get a new trainer which is without any bugs as far as I know.

Find that amulet and ring to increase strength.

Yesterday I have found excellent sword Rough Bastard Sword, it's str req is only 45, but has 45 dmg, that is more than long sword (38 dmg).

Do you wanna find it ? look below

-------SPOILER-----------
Harbour area of Korinis, jump into the water, swim right, pass entrance to thief guild, swim further until you see destroyed ship. There are 2 lizards there though, but you have to kill only one to get to the sword.

The only option you have is to travel to the Valley of Mines to find teacher.

No, I'm already a Paladin, and there's somebody there, near Lord Hagen, who can increase my strength too.
