EverQuest 2: Audio Interview @ GCC

GCC has a one hour audio interview with Moorguard on EverQuest II. They've transcribed one snippet so you can get a sense of the content:
Smaug - What kind of gaming experience can players expect on the upcoming PvP servers? (Besides the most obvious being PvP)

Moorgaurd - It always seem like just having an expansion coming out isn't enough for us. We always have to bundle it with massive live changes at the same time. It always a really exciting time, as you know now we have PvP coming along with the expansion. The way we are implementing PvP on the new servers is they are a new experience, with everyone starting on the same ground. People have experienced PvP in our game a little bit already with Dueling and such, but now we have a dedicated rule set and environment which encourages fair fighting. We will have unique items you can buy only on the PvP server, linear quests which follow the storyline, and do not rule out unique PvP based quests.

One of the nice things about the way we setup the system is that you don't have to relearn a spell book when you login to the server. In essence spells will have two different effects; One for PvP, and one for PvE. If we decided one particular spell was to powerful to be used against another player for example, that spell was reduced. If a spell would be useless in a PvP environment, we gave it a new effect completely. Feign Death for example; On PvE, the mob is tricked into thinking the player is dead, which will not work in PvP scenarios. What we did in this case was adjust the effect of the Feign Death ability, and in turn made it clears your opponents target.
Are these lengthy podcasts a good thing?

Moor lies from Moorguard... Saying they have delayed pvp due to specifics in their advanced pvp concept is ridiculous and a lie. EQ2 started off with a politicial-correct stand point which soon turned players off the game. It's only now EQ2 knows the money is in reality, not social engineers content which is seen as corny and lame content.
