I'm confused.

I'm quite looking forward to Onimusha 3, it looks interesting if not only for the great likeness of Jean Reno and the sight of Paris attacked & burned by - [gasp] - demons! And I really like some of the details I've heard about the older games (is it true that the lead in Onimusha 2 was "played" by a dead Japanese movie star? ) so I'm thinking of checking them out. But I think I could use advice from someone who's familiar with the series.

I loathe and despise the control method and cheap tricks of the Resident Evil series, and I know the Onimusha games (not including the new one) use the same control method. But I have heard that it isn't anywhere near as much of a problem (I guess because it's all/mostly close combat), and that save points aren't as stingy. And I'm guessing the problem of scarce ammo isn't an issue here... ?

Am I right in thinking Onimusha: Warlords is simply the first game in the series? (I don't know, why games can't just have one name each is beyond me). I could have sworn the series began on Playstation 1, but a quick search on the web makes it clear that I must have imagined that

Anyway.... any thoughts on these games?

the games here are all cheap u know what i mean...piracy..well we can't help it...anyway about onimusha...onimusha 1 and 3 are better linked with each other. what happened at 2 resulted to the events at 3 but the character in 2 is different in 1 and 3. Likeness in Jacques Reno because IT IS HIM! Seriously capcom hired him to do the part. I finished the japanese version and i have the english one. All in all it was good. The Resident Evil type movements is out, Imagine Devil May Cry style movement.
