If you only played BG1, you owe it to yourself to try BG2. I was bored with the first one but 2 has a depth and character interaction beyond any other game I've played.

IMHO, Torment has far better character interaction and depth than BG2. And even better, it's cheap these days. I bought it at a close-down sale for $1!

Have you tried Throne of Bhaal? Is it worth almost the price of a full game?

Knee deep into Arcanum now, although I stopped playing until the german patch 1070 is here (because I want to play an elfish mage now, after having played a human technocrat for 30+ hours).
The other game I am frequently revisiting is Diablo 2 - LoD, for pure entertainment.

Well, I hate living in a third world country like Iceland. Arcanum apparently doesn't go into stores here until November 2nd. I've tried the demo, though and was impressed.

I never thought I'd be playing it (due to bugs and hurried out the door) but I'm actually able to run Ultima 9 on my current system!
On occasion it can give me choppy framerates but in general I'm actually enjoying my visit in Britania

So far I've restored the virtue of compassion and am now in Buc's Den.
I'm just not sure if it's a real rpg - it plays a lot like an adventure game.
But no matter, as long as you enjoy the game it's ok

Sure it's a RPG, Adventuring is an important part of a RPG, and Ultima IX also include other elements like Character building, NPC interaction, item management etc.
So enjoy the game and don't worry about it's genre.

I'm playing Evil Islands ATM.... I tried out the demo the other day and had to buy it. I'm just starting out on the game but so far it seems really good. I love being able to sneak up on creatures and pickpocket them and backstab plus the character development being totally open to go whatever route you wish(melee, archery, magic etc..) is cool. Not to mention the graphics look really good at 1280x1024x32 on my Geforce 3.

Still working on Deus Ex, believe it or not...

Also playing a bit of MechCommander 2, RTS but with some RPG elements, very entertaining game.
