I usually just ignore the group of crazies since they don't seem to bother you if you don't get too close.

Fighter with Advanced Ore Armor and 2 rings of Invisibility could simply igmore Kor Calom magic (he dealt a damage, but wery little -- 1-2HP, perhaps) and kill all crazies). |

I shot at the crazies until one or two would respond, run up the stairs at me. Then kill them. Heal, rinse, repeat.
When no crazies are left then charge down the stairs and take out Kor Calom.

I find the last room easier as a mage, 5 waves of death is enough to kill everyone.
As a fighter I summon golums or skeletons to take care of the novices and Cor Kalom. |
