I helped out RPGdot with a full hit.... amazon.de :p
Because they accept credit cards, ship abroad and happened to stock G2. They shipped the day I ordered. |

I would really like to purchase a german copy of gothic 2 but no-one ships outside of germany! I played gothic I and loved it. I've played through the german demo many times and love not only the game, but the fact that I'm brushing up my german skills! I could wait to get the english release, but then I'd just play it in german anyway so I don't see why I can't get it now! I've tried ebay.de but they seem to be similarly restricted in shipping options. I have 2 questions:
1) does anyone know of a site where I could import a copy of gothic 2 from germany(or any of the german speaking countries where it is now being sold (i'm in the US)?
2) Could anyone in one of those countries buy me a copy, which I can pay for through paypal, and then send it to me? It would be a wonderful christmas gift indeed!
I hope that someone is able to help me out. I will be in the UK in early february, so maybe I"ll be able to find a copy then. But that's a long time from now!
I know I could probably download a pirated copy, but I don't want to! I want to pay the people that created such a great gaming system (and no matter what happens, I will still be buying a copy of the english version when it comes out - Being a consumer is often like voting).

Thanks for your reply. I just tried amazon.de again and here's the error message I received:
Leider können wir diesen Artikel nicht an die von Ihnen angegebene Adresse versenden. Wählen Sie bitte eine andere Adresse oder setzen Sie die Bestellmenge auf Null.
Which, unless my german is _really_ bad, means that they can't send it to my address in the US. Is there a way around this that any one knows? Could I send it to one of you kind souls in germany and then paypall you the shipping to send it on to me in the US 
I'll keep trying...

Okaysoft.de is one of the fastest and most reliable shops in Germany. They are specialized in imported versions. After briefly browsing their site I have the impression they are shipping worldwide for the actual shipping costs.
You could mail them and ask. If you´re lucky they are working tomorrow morning, although I wouldn´t count on it.
