All of them can be found but it depends on your class.

Because you're a mercenarty you can't get the paladin swords:
Wrath of Innos, Blessed Ore Blade, Sword of the Order, Holy Executioner and Rough Ore Blade.

Ore Bastard Sword can only be forged in chapter 3 when you've freed Bennet and became a dragon hunter. You can learn it from Bennet after getting your promotion. Same goes for Heavy Ore Two-Hander.

El Bastardo can be learned from Harad, when you are his apprentice. You can buy it from several traders in chapter 4.

The only two swords you can get already are:
Rough Bastard Sword: you can find in on the third beach, below the lighthouse.
Machete: You can buy it from Garett in the pirates' camp of from Martin in Khorinis.

What are you're stats, are you one- or two-handed?

thx Sem you helped a lot

stats: merc lvl 20 LPs: 60 base STR: 66 1H: 28% 2H: 34%
i'm apprentice by Harad, I can forge only the 1st basic sword(yet).

should i learn the 1st ore sword(Ore Longsword) from Jan in the Castle of VoM?
will i need it in CH3,4...
I'm just about to get through the pass to Khrintis.

btw how many lump of ore are in the game is there enough??

and Sem, how do you know all this? huh? you play it a lot dont ya?

I have played it a lot, I'm now doing a pure mage in my spare time, which isn't a whole lot.

As a mercenary don't learn from Harad. Sell him the basic swords to get money, but learn from Bennet if you want some real good swords.
The swords learned from Bennet will give you better bonusses and a better strength/damage ratio.

You should spend those learning points into strength and one type of fighting, make a choice between one- or two-handed. Otherwise you'll get some serious problems in chapter 3 (there some nasty surprises in that chapter).
Did Garond already gave you the letter to Lord Hagen, if so that wil trigger chapter 3 as soon as you enter Khorinis. If not you can still go there in chapter 2 and learn some skills before starting chapter 3.

Saving learning points like that is something for a mage. In chapter 2 which is a very long chapter (with the addonworld and so) he can only learn one or two spells and you can only spend the rest in mana (or secondary skills of course). More mana doesn't really make him stronger, so saving learning points is valuable, because that will allow you to become much stronger when you enter chapter 3. For a fighter you can keep getting stronger by spending points in strength and fighting.

Back to the ore longsword:
How can Jan be in the Castle already? He is a dragonhunter and will be there in chapter 4. I think you mean Dobar.
It's a fine sword, but you can also boost you're strength a little and learn how to forge Ore-Bastardsword from Bennet.
It does 100 damage, requires 80 strength and gives you a +10% one-handed bonus.
The Ore Longsword does 60 damage and requires 40 strength, and a +10% bonus. So it's already a little weak for your character.

Dang Yozi are you an orc?? Why do ya want to kill Bilgot and Diego?

You can gain more exp. leading them out of the VoM.... Of course you can beat up the prisoners, but be prepared because the paladins will come to their defense.

You questions have me confused EXACTLY what part of the game you are in, so....

Did you get the quest from Diego to retrieve his gold? He will give you this quest once he is back in Khorinis. He'll be standing next to the merchant in front of Matteo's.

I think you should use oblivion on Bilgot and lead him and Diego out of VoM. Bilgot will die anyway and you can loot his body.....it should be laying on the path just before leaving Vom after you have gotten the exp for leading him out.

Whether 1h or 2h is better....that's a matter of opinion really. 2h has more range and power, but is much slower. I prefer 1h.
