G2 uses DirectX, not OpenGL. Something is wrong. You should get more fps except in town and in very few other places. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

It is true, Gothic two uses DirectX. I have the ATI AGP XTASY 9200 with 256MB, a 200 GB hard drive, the VIA MSI PT880 Neo Series motherboard, and a 3.0 gig Hz Intel Pentium 4 processor; I have tried installing DX 9.0c, updating the ATI driver, and searching for information all over the net about Gothic two and the ATI graphic cards. I have found that many who have ATI graphic cards are no longer able to run Gothic One and Two. Sometimes for me the .exe will exit and other times it will exit and display: Access Violation--I did buy the game, it should work!
--let us who have this question know of any "fixes" even if it is to buy a new copy of Gothic Two, uninstall the old, and install the new in its place.
