Im actually gonna have to take back what i said in the original post.
Its very true stealing is not the answer. I love Bethesda too much to do that to them. They are one of the few compagnies that has that great going bigeer and better mentality.
I just finished playing Gothic 2 ans it took me 60hours, shorter then i expected but i can still play the game twice with a different guild.
BTW since no ones seems to have notice check ma last post in screenshots for the latest ones. _________________ ---------------------------------------------------------

ONE HINT FOR ALL YOU GUYS, ITS CHEAPER TO BUY THE GAME ANYWAY. I use amazon.com. If you select buy NEW or USED option then you can get new games at about a buck as many people resell un-opened games cheap for some reason. And you can buy lots so for 10 bucks plus seven shipping I get 10 games. New! Just out. Don't belive me, go look for yourself. I even use this option to buy my tvs. I got a 42 inch plasma tv and I'm a student
In any case spending a buck on a dvd to burn the game illegally is bad. But why now buy the full new game legally for a buck. So why warez? _________________ Yo Yo Yo, I am the Dude! |

I understand some of your point but..

If you go a cinema and notice the movie is shit, do you think you have a right to get your money back then? Or if you buy a shitty album, you want your money simply because it does not stroke your taste? Or if the book you read had a weak ending you think you have a right for refund?
No, BUT... If I go to the movie and the picture goes out, yes I want a refund. If I buy an album that says it has 15 songs but it actually has 4, I want a refund (even if they promise to record and put the rest of the songs on the internet later). If the book has a bunch of pages missing out of the middle of it, I want a refund.
I am not a pirate and I will not defend piracy. But just like pirates shouldn't use bad products to justify stealing, you shouldn't use piracy to justify selling junk. They're 2 separate issues and both wrong. |

Naturally if the book is missing a final page you have right to get your money back as well as if the movie doesn't simply work in your dvd-player etc..Or if the vendor had claimed that the game you bought was a rpg.game but it wasn't. However initially those were not my points.I was trying to point out that if people don't like the content of game/book/movie, it won't entitle them to steal the product.

Do you get your money back? Partly at least... Put the game on e-bay.
Games are over-priced {so people steal them}? Wouldn't it be nice if that were true. Ask yourself this: If you could easily and quickly download a full version of a $10 game that you wanted, would you choose to get in your car and drive to the store and buy it instead? Would you go online and buy it, paying the $5 extra shipping charge (which is less than you would pay in time and gas to go to the store)?
Those are rhetorical questions. What you personally would do is irrelevant (and what you might claim you would do in a public forum is even less relevant). What is relevant is that the kind of people who pirate software will reliably choose to download the pirated version regardless of price.
There are a million excuses... I wouldn't have bought it anyway, so no one is losing money (of course two weeks later when they get a birthday check from Grandma and their friends have all talked the game up to the point that the WOULD choose to buy it, no one steps up to the plate to buy the game at that point)
People steal because of only two reasons: 1) they can. and 2) they are weak. The only reason these same people aren't shoplifting groceries is because it is a lot more difficult and dangerous as far as getting caught. |

the games are way overpriced because they excpect from ppl to pay far more then they got.so its unfair they should sell games for 10dolars and everyone would buy them _________________ Destroy the dark side, we will

You forget that that games have a budget between 500.000$ and 20.000.000 $. They need to earn this money back. Most games don´t sell more than 250.000 units. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Oblivion better be at least 100 hours i dont want another fable
Now I remember, back in the day of the "VGA" monitor... Or was it the "EGA"? ahh, an old memory fails me. There was a lovely little game called Arena. But of course, back then we had to make do... We didn't have nona' these new-fangled games with a million plus hours or 'yer super-duper video thingies... whats'em.... videocards.
The point is, you say you love bethesda - look back to where the Elder Scrolls series started, without the socalled fables to pave the way for greater stories, there would be no Morrowind. If you want a great big game, what are you doing sitting around? go MAKE one. Join Tamriel Rebuilt - make your own morrowind-style game, only far larger. ....Far... larger. _________________ Ping the server, nevermore... |

I don't buy many games any more because most are junk. So I wait for the few I know are gems or in the bargain bin.
But.. Games are way over priced!! If you sell 100 units at 30 or 60 at 50 you make the same money. Also where are the demos for some of these games? Without a demo I'm very suspect of a game unless the company has a good history. Basicly I have no sympathy and won't defend the game companies. Anyone who does is a corporate shill, sorry but true. I've gotten gyped on a couple games and only gotten money back on one. Thank you EA!! That Sim City 4 is a piece of garbage but EA did refund my money so kudos to them!! Guess what my point is that if game companies make a good product and price it FAIRLY people will buy it but to think people who pirate are dirt bags is wrong. Many don't have money to buy these games to they pirate. If you make good games the same people will BUY them when they do have money. They wouldn't have bought your game anyways. The problem is the selfish aditute.
The games are not the cheapest things in the world yes? Actually one could claim that they are luxury products. So if I do not have money to buy something, I'm entitled to steal it even if playing games is not vital for my life? Do you think it is wrong that a company has a right to set a price for their products?
Don't mind about my bubbling above.I have begun to think that you are right! Guys let me explain. Lately I've been dreaming about buying one of those cool table-tvs.What do you think, should i just steal one? It would be quite stupid to spend any money, if you can just take one! Thought it wouldn't be as easy as stealing a videogame, but i'm sure it could be done.Would you happen to have any neat tips how to carry out this? I think those tvs are overpriced! I bet those evil shopkeeppers would be happy if they knew that i would have bought it if I had money. I bet it brings some warmth to their cold hearts. _________________ The focused mind can pierce through stone |
