Field of view

I downloaded the DD demo some time ago but have just gotten around to trying it.

After changing the brightness level and increasing the resolution I'm really enjoying it - except the limited field of view or "fog of war" in new areas that haven't been "uncovered" yet.

Is there any way to change the size of this area in any of the config files?

no. but this is a skill - I think it's called elven view or something.

I think you run the game in 1024x768? Try 800x600 - it doesn't look worse then, and the FoV is appearing to be bigger (just a psychological effect).

It's called ranger's sight I believe and eaca level grants you to look further. Actually I believe sight is a secondary stat. It can be modified by the skill, but is also dependant on your way. I belief that the survivor has a better range of view than a warrior has. But I'm not entirely sure about that.

There is also a skill named wizard's sight. It allows you to view an area you have never been before (so somewhere in the fog). It even allows you to see through roofs.
