New section for ToEE discussion is needed?

In D&D Based Games on the main forums page now we have D&D General, NWN General and NWN Spoilers... What do you think, maybe its a good time we start ToEE section there? This game is going to be a hit, and many people will want to discuss it in the future. Look at D&D General - we have more than 10 quite active topics on ToEE there. And this is not going to slow down I'm afraid

So maybe, Xen, you could arrange for this to happen. We also could move all discussion in existing ToEE topics there. How do you feel about it?

It's not my decision to make, but I'd say wait a week or two to see if the interest will be sustained. There was a fair amount of traffic about Lionheart until it was released a few weeks ago, which dried up in a real hurry.

Bingo. The forum doesn't exactly overflowth like the Morrowind one did on release. Nor does the game have the multiplayer appeal of NWN. Give it a month or two and I'm certain the forum will return to its stately pace of one post a week.

I would add that, at the moment, the general mood of the powers-that-be is to eliminate slow traffic forums, rather than open new ones. I think the only thing keeping the Dungeon Siege one open is the expansion being produced. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wizardry forum gets folded into General CRPG before too long, for that matter (which I'll fight tooth and nail, even if I realize that it might be the right thing to do ).

It would seem sensible to me to archive and consolidate the older forums and open new ones in their place for newly released games. Then after a few months, repeat the cycle. I played Wiz8 twice, loved it immensely, but I no longer visit that forum; heck, I've forgotten much of the game detail by now. I rarely visit Arx and Gothic now, though I still drop in once or twice a week to offer help if needed. That's the nature of games I think. I'm looking forward to TOEE and then KOTOR. When they arrive, I'll probably be fairly active in those forums while I'm playing. Same for HOU. My ordered mind likes the idea of separate forums for each game, though I understand the realities of running a site such as this.

It is hard for most games to sustain high posting rate, except the Gothic 1 & 2 forums here. Instead, we got many posters at general forums (Off Topic & General CRPGs).

MW forums - roughly 1-2 new post in 2-4 days.
NWN forums - new post in 4-7 days, or longer?.
Dungeon Siege - new post in 1-2 weeks, or longer .

I wonder forums for KoTOR will last how long, the PC version will be out this November but hardly anyone here asking questions about the game. No interest in Sciene-fiction CRPGs?.

TOEE? i am afraid that the interest in this game won't be very high and last long. The game is rather hardcore than usual Bioware or Black Isle CRPGs. At GameFAQ forums TOEE only generated 5-6 pages of discussion on it release day, while KoTOR spamming more 100 pages of discussion when it released.

Hmm, I wouldn't say no one has an interest in sci-fi crpgs. There's Fallout 1/2 which are both in the top 10 games list. As for KoTOR maybe people got their fix with SWG. I'm anxious to get my grubby paws on a PC version of KoTOR, but there's no real forum for sci-fi games like Fallout, KoTOR, Arcanum, etc. I could see a forum like that striving for awhile, but a ToEE forum would generate about one post a month.

OK, OK, another stupid idea of mine Nevermind. I only hope that ToEE actually will not be forgotten in a month.

ToEE will not be forgotten, but I don't see us talking much about it in two months. There aren't many guests that frequent this forum to keep discussion going. Basically, we've about seven or so members that have been posting about this game regularly....and now that most of us are playing discussion is bound to drop in the following weeks. Although it would be nice to see another D&D game get the recognition of it's own forum.

I’m with StAnthony on this one, I’d like to see some split in this board because, well… this is too general

And we both will be expelled, dear Seth, for... well... separatism within the forums But it's good to feel I'm not the only mindlessly enthusiastic D&D person around here

Why? We just in very cultural way express our needs, concerns and rights, there is no need to go for the weapons, but if you guys expel us: I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!!
