armor not working...

when I am in spell casting mode and get hit my unarmored skill goes up...while I am wearing a full set of heavy iron armor. does armor not work when you cast spells? I know other games have stuff like this but I have not read anything about MW having it...thanks for the help...and one more thing...which is better in the long run : 2 handed axe or 2 handed long sword? THANKS!!!

Rumor is your unarmored will always rise (just a little) even if yo uhave a full set of armor on. It should be a very small rise relative to the actual armor you are wearing. Of course, as a lizard thing I can't wear boots anyway, so I'm always a bit unarmored...

You probably got hit in area where you didn't have armor... there are quite a few places where armor can go and you might have had full armor except for one piece, so when you got hit in that area, your unarmored skill went up. But yes, magic works while wearing armor so don't worry about that.
