The walkthru, says to r click on the shovel in room 50 of level 3. Well, I'm in room 50, and there is no shovel and my own shovel seems to do nothing. Could someone please give some clearer directions for finishing Oliver's treasure quest. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Peronally I never dug up any of the hints... They were always just lying there on the ground.
When using the shovel, you should use it the same way you use a torch or a bag for example.

Heh wrong.
I collected the ring whilst only finding 2 notes (The first in the chest obviously, and the one in the troll cave). I tried before opening the chest and that didn't work, so I think the actual prerequisite for it is just the chest, which makes ALL the notes appear and the key diggable. |

Then that has been changed with a new patch...in the version 1.12 & 1.13 I played, this was not possible. |

I found all the notes, but there is nothing in room 50. Where do I dig? I've 'used' a shovel (my own) all over that place, but nothing happens!!There is absolutely nothing anywhere. This is my last side quest before I move on to the end game in the bunker and I would like to complete it before moving on. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Well, it should be there. It is in the place I maked in my walthrough maps, but not on the ground, but on a ledge there. Note, that there is no hot spot, it just appears when you r click on the right spot... |

One more idea:
In the latest patch version, 1.14 & 1.15, Arkane changed some control mechanisms. Maybe that is your problem.
In my walktrhough I used v 1.12 - I think I r clicked on the shovel (or the pick, can't remeber now by heart, but it says in the walktrhu) and the cursor changed (Note, that the cursoe won't change when you move itz around the ground, but when you equip). Then I r clicked around in that area and suddenly held the *censored* in my hands!
Maybe you need to equip the shovel/pick differently now with the new controls? |

Well, I'm standing on the ledge, with the hanging ladder beside and behind me, clicking all over the wall and floor and nothing is happening!! I've clicked with nothing, with a shovel, with a pick and nothing has turned up. I've found every note, so it should be properly triggered!!! What else is there to do? _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Thanks, I'm also a little confused by the reference to R clicking, since all this does is open and close the inventory. I have been left and dbl. clicking as well. Actually, the main reason I decided to both with the quest at all, was that someone on either this or another forum asked about it and since I hadn't bothered with it, I decided to do it so I could answer the question, only to get stuck myself!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Hi everybody!
The Oliver Treasure Hunt is a magical quest:
You need to find clue #1, then clue #2 etc.. in order to achieve this quest.
(You can't find clue #3 if you haven't found clue #1 and #2..)
To use the shovel, press "F" when your cursor is over the shovel. (with Default Controls)
best wishes to RpgDot Readers and a happy new year 2003!

First of all, I can confirm that you don't need all the notes to find the treasure in version 1.15.
Second: You need to use a shovel to dig out the treasure, but NOT by taking the shovel out of the inventory and clicking around, no let the shovel stay in the inventory, and rightclick the shovel there, while you are facing in the direction you want to dig. I don't no if there could be a problem if you got another function on the rightclick like open inventory, anyway you could try change that in the "control setup"!
And as I remember it the dig spot is not in some corner! _________________ Moderator on RPGdot.com Forum.

There was a metnion of "the haging ladder behind and beside me"... There's another ladder which is haging from the wall... I jsut wanted to make sure that people are doing it under the ladder which is OVER YOU, not just "haging". |
