Space Hack: North American Version Released Today - Announce |
|
The staff over at Gamershell have posted up this press release from Meridian4 re the release of Space Hack (aka Maximus XV, Abraham Strong: Space Mercenary) in North America...

Montreal, Canada. October 4, 2005 - Fledgling software publisher, Meridian4 announced today that it has signed a deal with Macrovision’s Trymedia Games business unit to distribute games online through the Trymedia Network, starting with the launch of Sci-Fi Action/RPG game Space Hack. Space Hack is immediately available for download in a try-before-you-buy format through hundreds of online portals including www.trygames.com. Space Hack sells for $19.99.

“The Trymedia distribution network reaches millions of game-playing consumers around the world, so it is a great way for independent game developers to get exposure and sell product,” said Tom DuBois, Senior Director, Business Development & Marketing for Macrovision’s Trymedia Games Business Unit. “We’re pleased to add Space Hack to our growing catalog of core game titles.”

“Game distribution has changed a lot in the past few years and we found that Macrovision offered one of the best ways to get our games to our customers. With shrinking shelf space for PC titles and the ever increasing use of broadband, online distribution offers us and our customers a great alternative.” said Andrew Sher, CEO at Meridian4, “We know that Space Hack and our other titles will be very successful on the Trymedia Network.”

Do they sell it in stores as well? Otherwise Rebelmind were ripped off - they could easily have made a deal with Trymedia alone. They hadn't needed a publisher for that. |
