Aha! I knew somebody else would notice that symbol..

It made me think of a compass of some sort. Do you think someone could hound the writers to see what they have to say about it? Maybe just something to boggle the minds of those playing the game and open threads to discuss it.

Xerxes i checked some webs with all kind of simbols and all i even taked many pics of it i found it tho the very first time when the Gothic 2 german version was out. tho i posted about that only now ehe  |

The same symbol is engraved in the wall off the monastery in the castle in gothic 1.
The symbol is not a rare symbol. It appears frequently but you have to look for it. |

ehe the deverlopers maybe meant something by putting it in G1 in the caslte monestary and in G2 in the cave comon if there is only 1 that kind of symbol it must be meaning something |

The Symbol,
The symbol has a texture name of MODERUNE06-C.TEX, it is in the tex'
lists of both Gothic & Gothic II.
I have checked out the one in the cave behind Dexters place, it has no
associations to any waybox or vobbox or any camera spline, it is just a "visual"
and going through the cave wall only comes out near a rock face in a woods.
When you open the second wooden door a zombie & couple of skeletons
will attack, then if you stand 1 pace from the symbol all is safe, but should
you stand in front of the symbol the skeleton mage 50 metres away will hurl
an ice-block at you, and you will "freeze".
I have also been searching in Gothic, I cannot find the symbol anywhere in
the monastery, or the castle, or the mountain fort, but there must be one somewhere?
The symbol is slightly obscure in nature, it "seems" to have the word "Gang"
below the center and a word like "stevl or dev? or sterv?" above. 
P.S "moderune" seems to suggest that a rune/magic is being used?

Still no news on the fate of the English NoTR add-on release date yet? 
Xardas when he was a kid like to draw on walls like many do with crayons. I guess he was praticing his Art.
Kind of reminds me of the exclusive 'Skull and Bones' Club from Yale University?....hehe
