Another First time post w/error |
|
I get an " Warning.txt file error" when I tried the TES last night. After reading a few posts I think it's because I haven't downloaded any plugins to work with.
I first thought I needed to load the TES CD because I didn't use it when I loaded the game.It didn't "auto run" so I tried manual. Then I didn't know where to put the files so here I am posting another newbie question.
This game came with the new graphic card I bought and I have no installation instructions. I have learned through forums but still don't know how to do some things in the game.
I have been playing for a while (to level and wanted to have some fun with the TES like everyone else in this forum.
I have the latest patch installed (shows in the lower left corner in the game).
The master .esm file box is checked but get this error when I click "OK"
I thought to reinstall the game but hate to start over and the "save files" might be buggy too.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????????

(Note - TES just stands for "The Elder Scrolls". If you want to use an acronym use "TESCS". )
You don't need any plugins downloaded - that's not the problem. The second disk isn't required to run the construction set, but you'll need it for certain things - like defining new objects - because you need to access the meshes etc on the second disk. But you don't always need it, so that's not the problem.
I quite agree that in that situation I'd prefer not to have to reinstall! I'd be paranoid that whatever is making the construction set fail is also making the save games work...
When you run the construction set, double click Morrowind.esm to turn the check mark on, click "Set As Default" (or "Active" or whatever it is - the button below the list of plugins), then click Okay. Do you still get an error?
There should be a file called "warnings.txt" somewhere in the directory Morrowind was installed to. Do you have one and is there anything in it? _________________ Charlie Dobbie
