Game-related crashes are usually a driver problem. Different games stress different parts of your computer, so it's impossible to say exactly what your particular problem is.
However, Morrowind seems to be particularly graphics-card intensive, so the first stop is to update your graphics card drivers. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

I have returned to playing Morrowind on the pc after about a year away from it, and I also find that the game crashes. I don't remember having this problem before and wonder if I used a patch? I have tried to download an European patch from the official site but without any joy. I do have the two expansions (which I have not yet played ) and wondered that if I loaded up Tribunal could this fix the problem? _________________ Maturity is greatly overrated !

Thanks Dark Weaver, I'll give it a try. I must admit I bought the expansion packs way back but never got around to using them. I wasn't sure this time around if they would change the original game too much, but have just read your other thread on this subject elsewhere so here goes. _________________ Maturity is greatly overrated !

No, the journal system also changes. And Tribunal adds some difficulties in the beginning. |

I have the GOTY version (PC) and have installed both expansions which, I understand, include the patches. I find that MW crashes regularly - I get a dialog box that asks if I want to report the crash or not, and then crashes to the desktop when I say no.
I find that crashes are more likely to occur when I've reloaded saved games several times in a session but some just come out of the blue. Very frustrating, but I've learned to live with it, because MW is so great! |

AFAIK, there're no boxes that ask you t report anything. Every messagebox that has a boolean, asks if you want to continue or not. |

Well, I see exactly that message at least twice a day! Maybe my PC is set up differently from yours. |
