About Biff. . .

I know he can be hired to follow you around, but what happens if you just decide to the castle or go back out of the the Valley of Mines? Will he just go back to the place where you found him first? If so, will I have to pay him every time I want him to come with me? And which is the best way to pay him. I don't really want to give him any of my loot, so I think I might want to just pay him 100gp, but I have a feeling he might ask me for more.

He will be standing right outside the castle, try when you go up to the castle and follow him after he says that it's getting too dangerous here and see where he stops, this is where he will be if you loose him during your hunting.

Biff is a really helpfull buddy,

I inserted him once near to Onar's farm and did some experimenting.
He seams to know how much g.p you have! so i dropped all my money, still
no good, best answer is half of the booty.

Biff has a bad habbit of running straight into kill any orc's he sees and if you leave him to it, he will almost allways get killed, this is because he is
equipped with a melee weapon (thanks game writers) Remove his melee
weapon and give him a good bow/crossbow and plenty of ammo' then when
he says he's had enough follow him to his default waypoint as Aphazel said
and remember where this is (near to a large tree)

The trick now is to entice any orcs/shamen near to Biff and he will still shoot arrows/bolts whilst you (pc-hero) attack with weapon.

@MageofFire

He definitely asks for more gold. Sometimes he asks at the MOST inopportune times like just before battles. But he's a great help if you can keep him from attacking everything that moves. You also get some experience just for telling him all the dragons are dead.

You don't have to 'hire' him every time either. Just take him along.

How exactly am I supposed to give him a bow or crossbow? I don't want to use cheats for this?

Oh, come on, it's Wulf!

Of course he used marvin. If you notice he said he inserted Biff near Onar's farm. The only way to remove his weapon and replace with another would be to possess him.

O.K.

To be more specific, Biff, allthough the same character, comes in two
guises, there is the valley of mines Biff and the new world Biff (who has
higher stats and a different interactive a.i.var, so the question raised of one
does not pertain to the other.

Of course i only found this info by "experimenting"

Marvin Mode is weak and so is Biff
Kill him, loot him, move on.
From what I remember of him, he attacked everything that breathed (then he'd die) and you dont get the exp unlike most grouped battles so he's more harm than good

Are you sure you're talking about Biff? I got all the exp plus some when the dragons were dead. He was a pain when he went after everything that moved, but since my hero was stronger, just had them attack me and let him help.

Strange, knew I was getting experience cause would let him go after those stupid ghost lights. What was the option you were paying him with? I'ld use the 100 gp.

It was either 100gp or half the booty. At the time I didnt know what the booty would be but I knew he sure wasnt gonna get 50% of it so I took the 100gp option, then gave him the slip. The next morning he saw me outside the castle and just started swinging on me. (Does he require 100 a day?) Anyway, it was all I needed to see to drop him. I like killing the place solo anyway, usually with a partner they run right in between you and the taget and you hit them, then they go agrro on you after the monster is dead anyway lol

I'm with Shrapnel, blow off Biff! beat him up collect 300 xp and be on your way. You don't need to pay anyone to help you. You've come this far on your own. Rod and Cipher will help you with the first dragon for free. They help you knock off the Lizard Men and you get all their points as well. Plus more stuff. Biff will reappear at the cave off the lake where the tent is. The tent you can rest in. He leaves you alone.

I wonder if it's different cause I hired him while a dragon hunter. Anyway, to each their own.

You meet Biff when you are a dragon hunter because he's a dragon hunter too. I first ran into the "gang" in the beginning of ch.4 entering VoM. I just don't like to share my loot.
