The weirdness of it.

I heard that players can be dms and such......I find that really weird cause alot of people like to throw off the responsibility of being a dm and want to cut loose in the game. I have a feeling alot of people will want to be a player instead of a dm and there will be a lack of dms and hence the game will stagnate unless they change something quick.

What could they change? There doesn't NEED to be a DM... the scripting is about as powerful as that found in the infinity engine games. And some people like to be the DM... people who want to play numerous roles or can't decide on a character concept make good DMs.

And I know a few people who want this game just so they can finally make a D&D CRPG that they LIKE. I know people who want to recreate their campaign worlds and share their brilliance with the world.

And from another point of view... the DM is the power-player's dream come true. You can do anything you want and the party lives or dies at your whim. And since you can set respawning with no losses at all to experience, equipment, etc... some 'dark' DMs might just make player killing modules with intense challenges and unbeatable encounters... just to get their kicks as the party is torn apart again and again and...

I think the GM feature is sorely lacking in a lot of games and is a natural progession in online play...

Imagine a party that has been hacking through a module with ease, we replace the AI with a human and they can compensate for the over powered characters.

I love the idea, I can't wait to dig my heels into it....

I think that is severely underestimating the CRPG gaming cummunity If that were true, don't you think that D&D as a pen and paper tabletop game would have lasted for generations as it did, and still does? You would be surprised at how many people wish to play DM, and dream about it! And you know a good group of people playing together will probably end up switching roles from one module to the next. Someone that is DM in a game could be a player in the next if another player has a module he would like to DM! Think about it, the DM role is not the end of it all. The DM module in fact garantees (if it works well and as advertised, of course ) a long life to this game. And I mean a looooooong life!
