Conflicting articles on the world size of Gothic 2

Gamesweb.com, a German gaming site, stated in it's preview that the world of Gothic 2 is almost twice as large as it's predecessor.

Krawall Gaming Network (www.krawall.de), another German gaming site, claims in it's preview that the Gothic 2 world will be about four times as large as the original game.

Gamershell.com has an interview article with Kai Rosenkranz, a composer and sound designer for Piranha Bytes, who states that "the new world is three times as large as the colony that formed the setting of Gothic I, which comes to approximately 25kmē".

So does anyone know what the actual size of the Gothic 2 world will be, and why there has been so much discrepancy over it?

Did you check how Gamesweb calculated? Is it
(old world + new world) ==> 2* Gothic size
or
new world = 2* Gothic size + old world ==> 3* Gothic size ?

Anyway, Gamesweb has a preview version. So they can simply walk through the world and find it out.

Yes, but the old world, "re-done," as it were, is also in GII.

In the chat on WoG/Gamesweb was said that the world is 2* as big.
The game wonīt be longer than G1 but tighter and more balanced.

?!?? - isn't bigger game world need longer time to explore and thus take longer time to finish? or are you saying that the contents in G2 is not bigger/longer than G1, except the physical game world?

The guy with the preview version said that G2 no longer wastes as much time as G1 did. Maybe you get your teleport runes earlier, donīt have to wander around aimlessly until you understand you have to watch an invocation, etc.

And in another preview the author said the Gothic II preview version is more bugfree than Gothic ever was.
