I wasn't kidding. I didn't vote. My copy says stuff like "...they travelled to the capital of China to get back at Aladdin" etc., so at least part of the story is playing in China, whether the original or a mythical China. As I said, all the names, descriptions etc. are from the Arab world, so it's a bit difficult to tell.
Arabian Nights are, as I already pointed out, an Arab/Persian/Indian anthology (yes, Persia = Iran), but I researched it on the net a little after this discussion and there were some mentions of a few instances of originally Chinese folklore in the anthology, all ported to a 'local' setting to make people understand them better. So our best guess would be that Aladdin's story is one of those originally Chinese folk tales told before a Persian backdrop.

Anyhow, Aladdin is Mustafa's son.

In my book it is:
"In One of china's citys, there was a Poor tailor, He had a son that goes by the name Of Alla aladdin..."
Alladin's Father's name wasnt mentiond... |

I got my book. It says here: "In one of the rich cities of Sind(Iraq, Persia, Kazakhstan & part of India), there was a poor tailor who's son's name was Alladin..."
They don't say where it was in Particular. But definitely not in China. |

It's an Arabic book. Sin (pronounced Scyn) means China, but Sind means Persia+Iraq+Part of India...
P.S. The father's name wasn't written here either. |

1-From the text vaticide gave us, it's most certainthat alladin isn't from China. They said "...they walked until they reached the mountains...", what are the mountains in China? Then he said "I got some cotton and I'm willing to sell it..." Is there cotton production in China?
2- From here, it's obvious that he was from China. It's an exact translation of what you posted before.(Sorry that it's in Russian. Ask Sasa or Stan.)
3-About Persian prince, I say that he's from South America, not north! Unfortunately, I think I won't be able to get internet fromn November, I have a vacation. |
