This is what you advised me years ago:

Deus Ex
Daggerfall
Divine Divinity
Diablo series
Wizardry 8
System Shock 2 (I advice you not to play #1)
Evil Islands is decent.

Thanks for your feedback (both times). Already played daggerfall, ss2, and played wiz8 just this month (thanks for your recommendation - it was awesome). I'll try neverwinter nights when I get a chance. Arcanum is on my "can't find anywhere" list. Icewind dale 1 I'm not sure about, I really should have played it before I played part 2 because I know it will feel like I've lost all the great features of part 2 like the improved ruleset. As for diablo, I will never ever play it more than the 2 hours I played it for about 6 years ago - hated it (just like dungeon siege), I prefer old-school rpgs.

NWN´s campaign is rather mediocre, IMHO.

So you like it old school ... did you play Albion or the Realms of Arkania trilogy by Guido Henkel (producer - Planescape:Torment) ? Probably both so hard to find that you could look at the Underdogs right away.
The Realms of Arkania trilogy would rank near the top of our Top 100 list if we cleaned out the obvious manipulations.

Or what about Jeff Vogel´s games? Most people who played Spiderweb´s RPGs say they´re very good and very old school.

edit: I overlooked Realms of Arkania is on your list.

Where to get Arcanum

I also will second the nod to the Spiderweb games, especially Geneforge.

I totally agree on the Spiderweb Software games. The Geneforge and Avernum games are definately worth checking out.
