Xbows and STR

Hi all,

I have seen in several posts that DEX only effects bows and not xbows, so if your character is fighter-based, don't train in DEX as it is a waste in points.

However, all my xbows have a minimum DEX requirement, so one has to train in DEX to get a decent xbow, correct?

The confusion is caused by whether or not players are using the add-on or not.

If you are playing the original version of Gothic II, dexterity is indeed a requirement for ALL ranged weapons.

If you are playing Gothic II with Night of the Raven expansion, dexterity is only required for bows, and strength is required for crossbows.

And even in the addon it is useful to increase your dex, your can better use your thief-skills and you'll get acrobatics when you have dex=90 (not sure about the 90).

Awww, man.... you mean I have to get my dexterity that high in order to have acrobatics? I thought it was just a skill that I had to learn from someone like in the first game.
