The was nudity in the German demo. But, there
wasn't in the same English demo. Is the English full version censored? |

Apparently. But I seriously doubt that it will detract from the game. Besides, there's some lines you can add to the scripts that remove the clothing. Whatever gets you off

I really don't care about the nudity thing.
I just read some where that there were things in the German demo, that were not in the English demo. I was thinking more about blood and gore. Not nudity. I just used that as an example. |

I didn't play the whole demo, and it's been a while since I played it so I don't remember if there was blood. But I can tell you that violence probably wouldn't be what gets edited for the US version. They'd probably leave all the blood and gore alone, but edit bad language and nudity.
Don't take this as fact, because I don't know. It just seems to be the way things generally work here. Pretty strange if you ask me. |

Blood/Nudity, who cares. Doesn't detract from the game at all, its still great. I guess I am past the 14 year old stage of "Whoah, boobies!" As far as I know, there was nothing forcing them to censor it. They probably just thought it would sell more if they could put a rating on it that said young teens could play.

Nudity is censored, yes. The bathtub chick has a very sexy small bikini. Blood: Normally, blood is censored in german versions of US games, not vice versa. I doubt you'll see less in the US version.

Terwin there is blood and there is a lot but you have to change "bloodlevel=2" to 3 in the ini file. When you do this your hero and npc`s will spread blood everywhere if they get injured . Try it its fun to see paths of blood he he and for the nudity yes there is small tiny(very tiny ) bikiny but there are hard to noticed   |

Thanks Crusher. I just want to say, that i wasn't complaining when i started this thread. I really don't care if they censor language, and nudity. I just read some where that it was censored. And i just wondered in what way it was censored. And if the gameplay was altered. |

If it's Piranha's decision to censor the game to appeal to the US market(wouldn't want to show a nipple, but make sure theres lots of blood) then I guess thats their decision and its ok. But if they were pressured into censoring the game by the publishers then that sucks. Gothic is Piranha's creation and I dont believe in censoring people's ideas and creations.
Of course it doesn't really matter, Gothic is amazing either way. |

This is the game how the artists wanted it. Who do you think coded it and put any bikini's in it? Did it just happen when it crossed the boarder magically? Someone suggested they do it to sell more games and they did it. Do you think the German version is uncensored at all? If it is does that mean you can't even play the original German version? Why would you not support someone who makes a game that you like just so you can complain about there being a very skimpy bikini on a girl in a tub. Maybe if they make enough money making games with bikini's they can then make their game with complete nudity and no one will suggest any changes. |
