I've got this strange mission, to find out who's stealing from the ppl in Khorinis town by Lord Andre.. This mission must be done to be accepted into the millitia.. can somebody tell me what to do? thanks.

You have to infiltrate the thievesguild! To do so, you have to complete a few quests to their favor. Start talking to the tavernkeeper in the harbor district about "special work" and you'll get in contact with Nagur.
There are three other quests you can complete as well, but you'll run in to them in chapter one sooner or later, I don't want to spoil your game. Be carefull though, if you finish the quests "against" the thieves, you'll run in to them anyway, but then they'll try to kill you instead.
If you want to learn how to pick pockets, keep them happy! You can bust them later on anyway.
If you're accepted as an apprentice, you don't have to finnish the "thieves quest" now, you can do that later on.
