I picked up Fallout/Fallout 2 this weekend. Started playing Fallout 2 as Fallout 1 would not install on my Windows 2000 machine (later found out that I can manually install it). I looked to see if there was a patch for the game and downloaded it. When I compare the files in my install to the files in the patch they are the same size and are dated the same. So it appears that CDs already have the patch on them. The only inconsistency that I noticed is that the downloaded patch has a longer bugs fixed list in the readme than the readme that came with the CD.
So my question is, do I need to install the patch or is it already patched?
Thanks

Most of the compilations or "budget title" releases are pre-patched. You can see the version number at the top of the opening menu - IIRC, Fallout should be v1.1 and Fallout 2 v1.02. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot

Thanks for the information.
The version says 1.02.
I forgot to mention this. The readme from the CD says 1.02. The readme from the patch says 1.02d.
