Third:True most of the citizens aren't working for the masters, but since the Paladins came thats the only way of geting a citizenship
Fourth: Mika the guard in front of the second get would see from 150 metres if the mercs would attack and then he could warn the others to close the gate and if the mercs would shoot him the guards would close the gates.
Fifth: You can't kill dragons without the eye Innos.
Sixth: The mercs are evil COMPARED to the paladins. Remember i said COMPARED.
Seventh: How excatlly do you think that the mercs would win if they attackted the city before Lord Hagen left?
Eight: You are unbeliavable. You are the first person who doesn't give up "arguing" with me!!! You worst then me. And i'm not insulting you anyway and i think that it's good that people hold on their opinions, but sometimes you must bend a little.

Heh. I don't bend im not a spoon.

1. Yes you can. Proved once too many times.
2. City isn't an open field.
3. If Lares wasn't a citizen he wouldn't have citizen's clothing on him. He wouldn't go too the inn in the harbour district, he coudn't even get into the city then.
4. As I stated before : Before the guards would get into towers to close the gate mercs would already be drinking beer at Coragon's Pub.
5. No you can't but normal citizens don't know that do they ?
6. Not all but many. Paladins still coudn't use runes.
7. I know im unbealivable. From my point of view this is only a litlle bit hotter discussion not an arguing. Then I ask myself why don't you bend ? Why don't you give up ? Its the same.

Just a few comments, don't worry

4 and 6: The mercs are evil and so all (or the majority) know thieves skills, do you think they just march towards the city?! Of course not, in the middle of the night they sneak in when those lazy guards aren't watching and silently knock down or assasinate the guards then they take down the city from the inside.

5. Everybody thinks they killed the dragons. After all: The dragons hunters went away to kill the dragons and when they return the dragons are dead -> logical conclusion: they killed the dragons. It doesn't matter if they did it or not, as long as the citizens think they did it.

You really should consider a career as a reporter.

1. If the Paladins would attack Onar Farm they would win. Think about it dozens of knights runing towards mercs. Swords ready to strike. They would win and if they attackted by suprise they would win also.
2. If the mercs would attack the city when all of the Paladins were there. The Paladins would win. Think about it the mercs are mostly weaker then the Paladins, their armor is a lot weaker then Paladins, their weapons are slightly weaker then Paladins. And there would be soldiers attacking from every angle (upper quarter, barracks, harbour).
3. LEE SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T BEAT THE PALADINS. After Bennet was captured Lee said "Some of the men would just want to break bennet out of there. Luckly we don't have enough resources for an operation like that". Or something like that.
4. If you are a mercenary why are you wearing a knights armor?

To Sem.

The guy whose yelling in the free beer area says that the dragons were killed by someone working for Lord Hagen.

When you free bennet he says that you were working for Hagen. No yo weren't, you were working for yourself.

And I would like to throw something else into here, I think Diego would stick with the boys from the colony and help out the mercs.

@mercanary Lares says he is still with Lee but as an undercover agent if you will a spy. Still a merc only in disguise.

Diego bought his clothes from some merchant outside the city in chapter 3. And Lares most likely did the same.

It doesn't matter were Diego got his clothes, what I am saying is that he will/might help out the mercs by killing off a few paladins.

My last message was for Mercenary. But Know that i'm already talking i might add that Diego isn't a merc and he doesn't have any reason to attack the city. He has a big house and a lot of money in chapter 3

This is true but he still might want to stick with the guys from the colony, honour among thieves and all that, also if the thieves guild was still about they might well help the mercs aswell.

Not interested in reporting.

Paladins woudn't attack Onar's Farm. They don't care about it. Its clearly said in the game that paladins woudn't interfere in the farm fight. Militia takes care of that.

Not necesarraly true. As I said before if Mercs would be in full numbers. (Their allies which could be counted under mercs) In that case they would outnumber the paladins and knights. And their armor could be made better. (Since Bennet would be in prison Hodges could still upgrade it at least a bit. If not it still doesn't matter.)

Lee is a pesimist. He doesn't realize what force he has. In time he would realize that and make some allies. Then he would have all the neccesary resources and he would not futhter delay the attack.

This is just an avatar. I could change it to some Mercenary but why would I ? People know me under this avatar and changing it makes people work their brains to get used too it. Why would I want to waste human brain on that when the brain could do anything smarter ...

_____

I will not stand away from my opinion. If you still want to convince me that's okay because I won't stop finding something too counter your statements. Remember Gothic is a huge game. It can be found. [I really like to quote]

So? First of all nobody ever listens to those messages, they are only drinking free beer there. And second as a dragonhunter you also work for Lord Hagen, so the citizens still think that dragonhunters did the job. Third, dragonhunters have many (not so confential) methods the convince the helpless citizens that they killed the dragons.

It even says in the manual under the description of a mercanary that they are a threat to the kings battle tested paladins.

not as noble as I'd like to be...

Milita vs. Mercanary isn't a fair fight. The Paladins are mainly in three places, near boat, incide inner city and one (Lord Andre)
In the inital first (and crucial muinutes) during which the Mercenaries would need to gain ground and get into the city (from the back) there would be four milita members in their way. (the one on the path, the two gate guards and the one in the market place.) These with a small amount of Merecanaries would be easy prey if the mercenaries used ranged weapons. from there most of the merechants would be egar to help the mercs, beecause remeber, the pals cut most of their bussniess and profit. There are no bells in thr back entrance, so the other Pals would not be alerted, From their position in the market, the mercs could assaniate Lord andre (with enough people), Vatras and the greedy fire mage. along with the reader of the law in front of the baracks. From there the place to go would be the inner city. THe Mercs would have the element of surprise, and might be able to win, or if fail, completely cripple the pals, and milita.
