Base charisma and higher spell levels for sorcerers

hmmmmm, crap. this sucks. my sorcerer/rogue just leveled up to level 17 (14 sorc, 3 rogue) which grants him access to level 7 spells....but his charisma is 16, which means he's 1 charisma point low from being able to use the new spells. i tried putting on boots that add charisma but i guess it has to be the BASE charisma level that lets him use higher spells.

is there anything i can do that will permanently raise his charisma up, other than waiting for another level up to hopefully be able to raise his charisma? or would i be better off in just starting a new sorcerer now?

So, you would rather replay 17 levels of a new character than play additional 3 levels and have what you seek?

Or you could find an editor package and boost your charisma, and take down some other statistic so you still had a 30 point character. If anyone questions the change - blame it on a wish spell

i think i might try that lintra, just for the hell of it. i'm not much of a cheater but since i'm basically almost through the game i don't see any harm in trying it. what kind of programs are there i should look into?

and moondragon - see the thing is i can't really get what i seek if my charisma is too low to be able to use them....in other words, since my base charisma is too low, and there isn't a way i can raise it, how can i use the higher level spells? exactly, i can't >=(

So, you don't use your higher level spells until you get a chance to raise your charisma. No big deal. To me, at least.

You are aware that cheating is embedded in NWN.. aren't you?
Press the ~ key and then press tab and a list of cheats is presented.

I didn't know that about the tilde key.

Rats. Wish I didn't know it now either.
