I got the quest of finding out more about the ritual killings but don't have a clue what to do anymore 
I saved shany. The only way I can think of is the secret passage where you need to climb, it is there down in the mines, you find the paper under a cushion. But I can't climb there. Is there an other way? something I need to do first? and plz give a little hiint of where I need to be

ow yeah another little question: what can you do with water lillys and ferns?
and rubys and other mining stuff are they only good for selling or needed for a quest?

Last part firs. If you have the knowledge and a mortor (sp?) you can grind the lillies to make the yellow powder that you need to make health potions. You need empty bottles to put it in, and then use the distillery. Same with ferns. They make poison.
Sounds like you need to go back to city and talk to everyone, including the king. And the snake lady in the castle. See it that gets you on the trail. If not come back and post again. But that should do it for you. I hate giving out more clues than are needed unless someone asks. And don't miss talking to all the people in the castle.

mm I got a morter so I can make the powder, but a distillery? where can I find that. thank for the rest of the help I'll try it out

There is one in the castle in the room behind the snake lady. Also one in some hidden rooms in the caves. You will find that one later.
