-= the thread they don't want you to read =-

I just saw the following thread and was wondering why it was locked. The text doesn't appear to insult anyone and it was an interesting argument, even if you do not agree with it. Just curious why it was censored?

quote:
I think most everyone would agree that Morrowind is boring and repetitive. I think where people are disagreeing is why is Morrowind boring and repetitve.

I have my own theories. I think the game grows really stale after only a short time because underneath all the pretty graphics, Morrowind is little more than a teeny bopper.

There is no blood in the game, so combat begins to feel really sterile and timid right off the bat. There are no hit reactions or animations. In fact, there is no meaningful violence in the entire game, as far as my experiences go. The FedEx quest that have you go "eliminate" someone is as close as it gets, but these quests seem sterile and cowardly.

You character cannot be romatically involved with anyone else in the game. In fact, I have never seen a RPG that was so utterly sterilized before. There is not even a hint of sex in this game. Hell, we can't even assume there is a damn stork since there are no children anywhere to be seen!

A lot of the NPCs seem whimsical and silly. The voice acting is in tune with a children's puppet show. I still can't get the generic wood elf greeting out of my head. "Howdy stranger!", said with an accurate Barney the Dinosaur voice. Even the "evil" characters seem sort of Disney-esque in their execution. "We'll be watching you, scum." "Did you come here to start trouble or are you just stupid". And these voices are performed with serious overacting. Just think a scratchy voiced nemesis in a Saturday morning cartoon sketch.

Walk into a "tavern" and not a single person will be drinking or smoking. In fact, they do not even sit down, for that might look like they were about to drink. I did get to read several books that describes how "smoking" will kill you and how "drinking" is only for bad people, though. And for all this fuss and panty wadding about skooma addiction and not a person in site seems to suffer from this ailment. In fact, everyone seems completely healthy.

And you would think with that Blight disease running so rampant that there might actually be infirmaries where the sick and dying were gathered. Or perhaps someone dying in their home. But that might actually require an NPC to lay down and we all no that is a No NO. It would probably be too scary anyway.

I could see how a much younger player might giggle and clap with delight as they played through some of the missions. Children might appreciate quests in which they reunite a damsel and her oh-so-romantic villianous boyfriend. But older players often are sitting looking at the screen in complete and utter boredom.

The difficulty level has obviously been adjusted to accomidate much younger players. Adults will find this game extremely easy and will have to search the land over for even the slightest challenge.

Now might be the time to cue the theme jingle of the true Morrowind fanboy... User mods will save the day! . Sorry, I don't have time to piece a game together one scene at a time. NOt to mention how terribly distracting and tedious it is to scour the net looking for something to download that would make the game worthwhile.

Morrowind is a teeny bopper, plain and simple. And ultimately, this is what I believe makes the game so painfully tedious.

Because this guy pretty much lost his mind and kept posting the same topics over and over. Plus there is already a thread still going on about this. I am not a mod just letting you know wsup.

Who cares? Let it go...

Actually they didn't take away our ability to READ it...just the option to RESPOND to it. Who cares though? Just the same old crap that's been posted here 10 times over. Just let it die.....I'm starting to believe there is only one forum lurker here that's posting this "mod censorship" crap under multiple names: Captin Kidd, Curioso, Mattais, etc.
