when your're a novice and want to become a mage, how do you get to the monastary? i know where it is, but theres useally someone who takes you..

Its a long time ago since i played gothic 2, but i think near abuyin should be a novice, who will bring you there. If hes not there, just search in khorinis a novice. If you find one, hes the one.

if i find a novice? how do i know who is a novice?
edit: found him, ulf, and i know where to buy the sheep, but i dont know how i am going to be able to get 1000 gold.... should i borrow from lehmar?

G2 gives you a great freedom of action. Do what YOU think is right to get the money.
If You fail try to beat up the CArtographer in docks (Brahim), take his maps, sell them to him again, beat him up, and it goes on. Had the idea. Never needed myself - robbed him only when he had a new map. But people here say that it works just fine.

i know have 30 learning points and im done the sweeping quest, failed suasage quest, did the nettle quest, sold the wine.
first of all, should i spend my points on mana, or something else?
second where do i get the recipe for olopos(sp?).

Ingaz is NOT in the upper quarter, he is down by the docks around the corner from the blacksmith down there. He is notoriously difficult to find, as you can see from the milion posts on the subject, some include .jpgs of his house. I'm sure if you search the forums you can find his house and the pics of it.

No one is better or worst. Just go everywhere You can even if first it seems impossible. G2 is really big game with many possibilities and really strongly different paths for paladin, dragon slayer and mage. Everyone of us on this forum was unsure of sth at least once- maybe exept of kind gods of this forum.
