Even for non-germanic/romantic languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean, we wait at most 3 weeks to a month for the localized version (ie: Dune Emperor, Baldur's Gate II, and numerous other titles.)
Maybe those guys in Germany need to outsource their translations to someone else.

Its not all about localiztions. Maybe they'll releast different versions of the game for the US, fix more bugs...etc. And they have to take the time to put bikinis on the babes

The translation wasn't the problem but to find an international publisher for gothic 1. That's why it took so long.

the only answer to this question is: because gothic 1 was one of the greatest games ever...so gothic 2 has the potential to be even better!

Sort of like the Fallout games, eh? Fallout 1 was an amazing game. Fallout 2 was even better. I hope they can make Gothic 2 better than Gothic 1 in the same way.

I'm so gagging for Gothic2 (if only to find out what happens next in the story) that I just got all excited to read the little story piece on the JoWood web site!

Since G2 will follow on from the storyline of Gothic1 I think the original poster of this query should *definitely* go pickup G1 first !

So far, in my gaming experience, Gothic is the only game that ever took me there. I launched Gothic and I was in Khorinis! I'm dying to get that feeling again, that's why I'm so excited about Gothic 2.

Gothic was one of the best RPG's ever, and I've played most released in the past 15 years or so. I have to laugh at the comment about finding an international publisher. It's still not available in Australia and never likely will be. I only hope G2 makes it here. Everyone should play Gothic and G2 can only get even better. P.S. Kudos should go to RPGDot for making this game known. Most other major gaming sites ignored it completely. Keep up the great work guys.[/img]

Well the first poster asked why to buy Gothic II well simple G I and II has the best Story i ever seen and heard. It has great graphics and quests. It has day/night system. The best what i liked in G1 was that there are not really big citys/camps like in morrowind or whatever.Real big citys/camps make the game boring and shjit. And another intresting thing in that game is that people go at nights sleeping in theyr houses and do at days different things not like in morrowind they just stand on the same place and walk around the same places they never enter theyr houses there even.thats my opinion. and sorry about my english heheh

Or his hillbilly cousins? Perhaps the secret "Mud" level, in which you slay Mud a hundred times over, only to see that you have angered the "Uber-Mud," who is very powerful.

Either that, or you talk Mud into taking you to his secret get-away place. There you drink beer and watch the Gothic babes MUD wrestle. mwhaha
