the cyclop's eye

I must be an idiot. I can't find the cyclops eye. I went down into the warrior's dungeon and killed everything. Pulled a lever and opened one door. That led into a downstairs room with a book and four gargoyle things. Couldn't do anything. Now I can't get back into that room and I can't unlock the other rooms. What gives? Help!

There are actually four chambers leading off from the main one. Each must be opened in counter-clockwise order starting with the northern chamber. Each chamber has a lever that must be pulled to unlock the next chamber. You are currently in the western chamber. You must unlock the southern chamber, then the eastern. The Eye is in the east chamber.
