I will be starting in Shaman's Crossing tomorrow. It's written by Robin Hobb, and this is the first part of the Soldier Son Trilogy. I have read every book written by her, and I'm sure this one will be just as great, though it's not about the Six Duchies anymore.

I read the Farseer Trilogy earlier this year and it was awesome!
Currently I'm only reading the Bible

Just finished The Last Light of the Sun by Guy Gavriel Kay. I enjoyed Tigana really much and when ran into this one bought it without knowing anything about the book. It was really good and I can seriously recommend it. Sort of viking fantasy story with believable characters and really strong atmosphere. Kay's writing is quite strong and vivid. Story really keeps you in it's grip.
Now I'm beginning Robin Hobb's and George R.R. Martin's newest ones.

Reading Ron Hansen's Atticus. Modern literature. He's actually a Catholic writer, but you might not guess it just by reading his books. Excellent writer, great book.

The Complete Tales of Hans Christian Andersen. I completed all the Brothers' Grimm fairy tales about a month ago, and before that, read a lot of Aesop's fables. Out of all of these, Andersen's tales are probably the most magical. I've started to notice a lot of themes and ideas found in the fairy tales that show up in other great works, such as two fairy tales which seem to be the inspiration for Shakespeare's King Lear and quite a few that show up in the famous Miyazaki's animated works such as Spirited Away.
The Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. I took this up on recommendations from friends, but I'm finding it a little slow going and formulaic. While it's better written than most epic fantasy, it still has some rough spots and characterization is lacking. I might be becoming a jaded reader after all these years.
Rules of Play by Zimmerman and Salen. This a textbook on game design. I'm only a couple chapters in, so can't really give my opinion yet.
