Runes U or WW, what should I see happen?(Spoiler?)

Finished the game and went back to try out a few things I was afraid to do the first time around. I tried the U and W runes and got a nice little multicolored design around the U W on the screen. It hung there a while and then vanished. I used enter and F key on it but no underworld. I finished the game several days ago but this is a stumper. Anyone know the trick? Is it level specific? Thanks

Um.. you didn't notice the qualityu of the textures going down?

In fact the mode doesn't dissapear until you do the UW again (I just tried it... for those who've not been able to do it, you do the U than the W and release the ctrl. the U never appears on the screen (which I thought it would) so you have to assume it worked)).

Yes I noticed the quality change but then the little uw graphic slowly disappeared and I was still in the same place. Do you mean I need to do it again while the graphic is still hanging in front of me, or wait for it to fade out and then do it again? Does it matter where I am when I do it? Thanks for the help Red.

It is a tribute the the game Under World which inspired Arx. The graphics are the retro look.

well, there's the little UW going up and down, but all the textures look kinda ugly in that mode. Doing it again restores the quality. I'm not sure wether the state is saved though, so perhaps it turned itself off once you loaded a game.

I've noticed that even in the UW mode when you get close to the textures they still get higher quality so that might confuse you a bit.

Anyway play close attention to how the textures look and if you've finished the game in that mode once you return to normal mode you'll wonder how the heck you played the game thorughout in it...

In fact you should notice the difference right away just by starting a new game... Starting a new game will make you notice the difference right away (well, unless you've got real bad eyesight or it turned itself off once you loaded).

Thanks, I was expecting another level or something, not just the texture changes. I'll be playing a new game soon, thought I'd refine a few spell skills now while everyone is basically dead or gone. Thanks for all your help, you made the game much more enjoyable.
