I can see for miles and miles! |
|
Just wondering how many of you are using the marvin mode code: zfogzone? I can't believe my eyes. The views, especially from way up high on a hilltop are staggering! The detail and what I can see on the horizon are truly astonishing. At one point up near the top of the mountain where the 2nd dragon resides, looking in one direction I can see the detailed snow peaked mountains in the distance. Looking the other way, I can see all the way to the ocean(?) or is it a lake? My machine is definitely not a screamer. P4, 3.2 Gig, but only a 5600fx video card. All the options are all the way up. I was already at 300%, but it's like I was blind compared to what now is visible with zfogzone. No stuttering. The game runs virtually the same. If there is any slow down, I don't notice it. Fought 3 Lizardmen at once and had no problems. I just hope this won't cause me a problem later, but if I want to I can scale it back by dropping down to F1,2or 3. I don't seem to be able to turn it off, though. If anyone knows the marvin code to turn this off, I would like to hear it. I can't find any change being applied to the gothic.ini file. As I said, F1,2 or 3 *do* scale it back, but it's still much better than before I used this code. And with F4, there is virtually *no* fog. Anyone else try this? I can't believe I've played most of the game without this on. It makes me want to go back to the new area just to see everything for the first time from a distance. OK, I know I sound excited, but if you haven't tried this yet, you have got to see it. Hopefully the reason I haven't heard of many other people using this is not because it might cause problems like crashing, etc. I've only tested it for about 45 minutes, but no problems so far. Any comments? |
