Star Wars: Galaxies - Review at Games Domain

Games has published the second review of Star Wars: Galaxies we have seen so far, and it is the second rather negative one. The rating is 2/5, and this is their conclusion:

Star Wars Galaxies has been publicised as an MMORPG for people who don't like MMORPGs, an MMORPG for casual players, and a chance to live in the Star Wars universe. It falls short on each one of these counts. Its Star Wars atmosphere is minimal, and its advancement is riddled with repetitive, boring, time-consuming experience-grind busywork. In some ways, Galaxies bears more resemblance to the glorified chatrooms of The Sims Online than to conventional MMORPGs like Anarchy Online or EverQuest.

The second negative review and the second review that comapres SWG to other MMOG's. Subjective drivel.

I was in beta 3 and the game is just plain dull. There is no desire to log in and play it at all.

I was able to get in and play most of yesterday, for what's it worth, it looks like the first day was the only bad day so far. Not that it excuses them, but they didn't count the first day against everyones trial time either.

It will be interesting (and in their best interest) to get some of these missing features online as soon as possible, but realistically, it's gonna probably be 3 months before we see much new stuff. I'm betting a lot of people won't stick it out. I probably will for 3 months, only cause I'm bored with most of the other online games out there.

Also, I wonder what the more mainstream sites will give it for reviews.. will they slam like these little niche sites, or will they cave to advertising pressure and give it 'Game of the Year' (like PC Gamer did for AO when it first came out). Should be fun to watch
