Help with choosing class.

I'm getting ready to start playing DD for the first time. I can't make up my mind what class to choose. I'm leaning towards survivor or warrior or a combination of both. Any suggestions? Is it possible to do combinations like a warrior with a lot of survivor skills or are you class restricted?

No, you are not restricted.

Survivors get more defence per AG point and fighters get more offence, and there are some other small differences, but on the whole the only skills not available to all classes are the special moves (Fighter whirlwind, Survivor Sneak, and Mage teleport-like ability).

I would suggest you play the charcter you want and tweak as nessesary.

In general choose the picture you like and the skills you want to start with. From there you can choose all the stats the same.

The fighters special ability is very good. The other twos special ability is nothing so all things considered the fighter is the best but do whichever you want. Be the sexy thong wearing survivor.

Good advise above. For more detailed info look here, here, and especially here. The third page describes some of the more subtle differences in the various classes. Enjoy!

I found the warriors special whirlwind move the best, because early on, you often get surrounded and then it works wonders. I became a very powerful mage as well as a good fighter. You can mix and match quite easily. I only used a few of the survivor skills. Really, though, you can pretty well custom tailor your character to your own personal preference.
