i like Ultima -
i have played IV,V, VII Black Gate and VII Serpent Isle. If I have more spare time i will play VI.
Ultima VII is in my personal top 10 of all rpg games.

i have not played Ultima 8+9 yet - some of my friends have played them, and they say:
don't play 8+9, these games will ruin your good opinion about Ultima games.
i enjoyed Ultima Underworld 1+2.

Super Avatar Bros. = Ultima 8, due to all those jump&run sequences. |

I played all IV to IX
In fact VI and VII BG & SI are still my best RPG ever, and Underworld comes close behind.
In fact, I'm (desperately) looking for a game that would come close as far as NPC and non-linear storyline are concerned.
Any idea ? |

I played 2,3,4,5 and 6. Ultima 4 probably shaped my current game-playing tastes more than anything else I played in the past. |

Seven was good... but with the first computer I played it on it was painfully slow (386). Then the next one I played it on it was ridiculously fast (P233 MMX). I guess it says something about the game taht I nearly completed it at like 4 frames a second on the 386.
I didn't like 8. the whole jumping and running thing was lame. Didn't like the magic much either, if I recall...

I played Ultima 5 a long time ago and loved it. I bought the Ultima collection and played 4-8, then I got Ultima 9. I can't decide which I like better 4, 5, or 7. Those were cream of the crop. |
