Mythica: Preview @ ActionTrip

ActionTrip is featuring a preview of Microsoft Game Studios' norse mythology themed MMORPG 'Mythica' today.

Here's a bit:
For years now, game designers and publishers have endeavored to capture the hearts of gamers worldwide. These days, it seems that no genre is more popular than the MMORPG. Sony Online Entertainment leads the world in online gaming with its vast assortment of MMORPG games, most of which receive constant support from their ever-growing community. But, look out Sony - Microsoft Game Studios, Sony's number one competitor on the game market, has kicked off a MMO project, called Mythica. Pulling an original concept from the unwavering and always inspirational tales of the Norse mythology, Microsoft Games Studios conjured up an infinite new MMORPG world. Hey, if it's not out of Lord of the Rings or D&D, it's gotta come from Valhalla, right? All the characters and realms of the ancient Norse mythology turn out to be the perfect and solid corner stone for Microsoft's upcoming game. The Valkyries, Asgard, Valhalla, Odin, Thor, Loki, Skadi, and other names all have a place in Mythica (readers of Marvel's comic "Thor" are most likely already familiar with these mythic figures [and for those of you who are not, know that - Thor Will Kick Your Ass. - Ed]).

This is the one to watch...

This game is definitely the one to watch.
SWG was a letdown.
The more I find out about WoW, the less enthused I am about it (Diablo in the WC Universe online still equals boring repetition and shallow gamplay). City of Heroes-I think the dev team is too amateur to pull it off, although it's a great concept.
This leaves Mythica-from the previews, screens and early game footage (www.mythica.com) this looks like it could be a real winner.
I eagerly await it, like I have no other MOG before it.

I agree, this is the one to watch and hopefully wait for.I've been asking for years now for a mmorpg that you can solo in as well as group in and if they hold to their promise, this is the that baby! All other mmorpgs out now almost demand that ,in order to advance with any type of speed, you must group or fellow or whatever they call it. I like to solo about 80% of the time and this is the mmorpg i've been waiting for.
