What problems? Technical problems or gameplay problems?

Some questions.
1.Is it stable or do you have crashes?
2.Win98SE ?
3.Do you have the impression that there is a lot of swapping to HDD?
4.For the controls: are you right-handed?

1 very little crashs
2. win98se
3. yes swapping may be it... when it lags it seems like it needs to load something...it does not occur with sound only when running into new scenes..
4. right handed

Okay, search the forum for Cacheman and install the tool. Itīs a small and very professional piece of software.
The most important option is 'conservative swapfile usage'. Enable this and the swapping should be over.

This is sort of all you can do. I had a G400, then a GeForce2 MX and now a Voodoo 5500. The bottleneck is your graphics card. Even the MX, which is a lot faster than the G400, is not really fast enough for Gothic. A card of the GTS class and with 64 MB is optimal.

Iīm also righthanded, Iīm playing with alternative (ASDW) controls. You can reach most keys without moving your left hand. The right hand is on the mouse and used for aiming and 'use' (=LMB).
Keyboard-only is also worth a try. Thatīs how this game was meant to be played.
