Gothic 3 info in PC Games |
|
German printmag PC Games has conducted a short interview with Piranha Bytes' composer, webmaster and PR head Kai Rosenkranz about the Addon and also managed to get this info about the third part of Gothic; next to the already published info, that a new graphics engine will be used, Kai also revealed, that the first prototype of the game will be a mere action game to make combat as good as possible and that story and all the other details will be added later on. Interesting approach.
<br>If you know German, the whole interview has been quoted on the <a href="http://forum.gamesweb.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=235863" target="_blank">World of Gothic</a> forums. |

First of all, excuse my broken English, but I'm only a 14-aged German who wants you to know the following fact.
For all GothicDot users who don't speak German, I'll tell you an amazing feature of Gothic III that's mentioned in another interview which one of us German fans had with Kai Rosenkranz at the Games Convention in Leipzig:
He wanted the fan to imagine the fantastic faces in Valve's upcoming Half Life 2. The fan was confused first, but then Kai added that the faces in Gothic III will probably be even better then these!
Isn't that damn great?
Oh man, I'm looking forward to playing Gothic III with its new engine so much! But you Americans first want to have the add-on, don't you? |

It's me again; I've finally found the thread regarding the mentioned Gothic 3 features.
*Link*
Maybe you can translate it or summarize for the English-speaking Gothic-fans, Garrett...

You can just about understand it if you use Google Translate. The bad news is that it says 3rd quarter 2005. That is the year after next! _________________ "How are things?"

Hope it makes sense to you
quote:
As small group we went at 15 o'clock to the Gothicpresentation. At the conditions arrived, we expected only two PCS which were already occupied by two grapes/clusters naturally . Directly beside the PCS crying humans stood on a landing, who threw a great deal articles into the roaring quantity beside us. Our witnessed to asking view rather from Enteuschung, since we had expected something else from a presentation rather. rather inconspicuous man appeared sudden for the time being with a fan over the Addon conversed. It was naturally no smaller one than dock rosenkranz. Me this only was, at this time not yet conscious. Much too young and sympatisch this person appeared to me. In eimem intensive discussion I and my friend could draw also some information from him to the hot expected G3.
* On the present G3 work only 3 men, the rest is busy with the Addon etc.
* the graphic engine is already licensed however he didnt want to tell me around which it act. He said that first only core will use the engine and optimize it to fit gothic 3. If still enough time is, the core also still converted
* to the graphics my question read whether the Models taken over or whether they are modified/reworked. Whereupon it said all this is completely revised. Its words read approximately in such a way: "imagine the Half Life 2 faces..." Internally extreme astonishment overtook me "... only better "then was I flatly mine" no or?", with rather self-assured nodding one dismissed. (that must one, times on the tongue zergehen oneself leave...)
* The team aims at a more realistic play world, before all the animations overhauled completely
* the relationship between the NPCs is to be still more strongly minted, i.e. pieces of news distribute themselves not immediately on the whole country as in the predecessors, but spread rather slowly and logically
* first times all places jehmals from a NPCs mentioned were listed up to now and now are weighed, which in G3 to occur or are mentioned I asked him whether it are possible, perhaps times various places (like e.g. the southern islands) with a ship to visit and he said that it is quite possible
* it definitely no Multiplayer will give, that knows I here shon explain with a simple plausible reason: If one e.g. talks with a person in Gothic, then the entire world is as gefreezed. I.e. all other figures (NPCs as well as Gegner)bleiben as frozen to stand remain. Already alone therefore no MP is possible.
* Release desired and still extremely unoffizielle is that 3. Quarter 2005. I for my part, zocke first times extensively the night of the raven
