Got it today! [poss. spoiler inside] |
|
Hi all! I got my copy of KoToR today, and I am really enjoying it so far! I am in the lower city, and I have the pilot guy in my party. I'm still trying to find the female Jedi, and right before I had to quit for the night, I met up with the hidden Bek gang. Something about the big swoop race coming up. I'm supposed to go and get his prototype engine back, I think. Do you all remember being at this point in the game?
The graphics in the game are amazing! The shadows cast by the sun are fantastic, the lighting that hits armor/weapons is unbelievable! The combat is a little awkward, but unless you turn it into a FPS, how else would you do it?
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who recommended the game, and I hope to see much more of it in the next few days! _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"

yes, I remember it. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. The first part is the most tedious. It really opens up after you leave Taris. Enjoy the experience. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Maybe I'm strange ..... I actually quite liked Taris. Starting off pathetically weak and struggling to survive is more entertaining to me than playing a "hero".
Enjoy though ...it's a great game. Oh ..and take your time. There's probably more side quests than what you realise. A friend of mine ( who normally doesn't play CRPGs) played the game at the same time as me. He kept e-mailing me to see how far on I was. He couldn't understand how I was so far behind ....until I started to mention quests/outcomes he had never come across. He then realised that in true "action-gamer" style he had merely just powered his way through the main storyline without taking a breather to absorb the surroundings.

Ah, I think I will truly enjoy this game. All of the reviews I've read (including those posted here!) have said how slow and restricting the first part of the game is. However, I'm finding the first part of the game great! Meeting up with patrons in the cantina, playing cards for credits, taking bounty missions. This is what Star Wars is all about! _________________ Member of the "Fantastic ONE"

I totally agree! There was so much to do on Taris. Everything from dueling to gang wars. The other worlds don't seem to have as much to offer.
Spoiler:
Pity the place got disintigrated.
